Springboks Fight Back in Cape Town
The Springboks produced a determined performance to beat the All Blacks 33–26 on Saturday, 29 August.
The victory at DHL Stadium levelled the four-match series at 1–1. South Africa responded strongly after losing the opening Test 33–16 in Johannesburg.

Jessie Kriel and Damian de Allende crossed the line early. Captain Siya Kolisi then added another crucial try before half-time.
Cheslin Kolbe proved equally important with his accurate goal-kicking. He contributed 18 points as South Africa held off a late New Zealand fightback.
A Huge Response From the Springboks
The victory showed the resilience that has become a trademark of Rassie Erasmus’ team.
South Africa controlled important periods through powerful defence and an effective set piece. Meanwhile, the All Blacks continued to threaten whenever they found space.
New Zealand scored four tries, including a late effort from captain Ardie Savea. However, the Springboks remained composed during the closing stages.
Consequently, South Africa secured a valuable seven-point victory and restored confidence ahead of the third Test.

Erasmus Names Third-Test Team
Rassie Erasmus has now named his team for Saturday’s third Test at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Cheslin Kolbe moves to fullback after Damian Willemse suffered a hamstring injury. Kurt-Lee Arendse returns on the right wing, while Ethan Hooker keeps his place.
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Cobus Reinach continue at fly-half and scrum-half. Siya Kolisi captains the side once again.
The forward pack features Ox Nche, Malcolm Marx, Wilco Louw, Eben Etzebeth, Ruan Nortje, Pieter-Steph du Toit and Jasper Wiese.
Third Test Could Decide the Momentum
The Springboks enter the match with renewed belief, but the All Blacks will be determined to respond.
Erasmus has chosen continuity while making changes where injuries require them. The third Test takes place on Saturday, 5 September, at FNB Stadium.

With the series tied at 1–1, both teams know victory will provide a major advantage.
The Springboks will hope their physicality, discipline and experience can once again overcome New Zealand’s attacking threat.
