Barcelona Ready to Reconsider Marcus Rashford Deal
Barcelona appear ready to make a decisive move for Marcus Rashford after a standout season at the Camp Nou.
The Spanish giants are now reportedly willing to activate the £26 million option to sign him permanently from Manchester United.
Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on loan last summer after slipping down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford. Before that, he spent the second half of last season with Aston Villa, with his final United appearance coming in December 2024.
Since arriving in Spain, Marcus Rashford has delivered consistent end product. He has scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists across all competitions, which has strengthened his case for England’s World Cup squad later this year.

Transfer Talks Take a Turn
Earlier reports suggested Barcelona were reluctant to meet the agreed fee for Marcus Rashford. Instead, the club explored alternatives, including a reduced transfer sum or another loan spell with a delayed obligation to buy in 2027.
However, Spanish outlet Marca now claims the situation has shifted. Marcus Rashford is eager to commit his long-term future to Barcelona, and the club is prepared to honour the original £26m clause agreed with Manchester United.
This change in stance also reflects Barcelona’s forward-planning. Robert Lewandowski is set to leave when his contract expires this summer, leaving Hansi Flick keen to reinforce his attacking options.

Rashford’s Commitment Praised by Flick
Marcus Rashford has settled quickly in Catalonia and made no secret of his happiness.
“It’s been amazing. I feel welcome, I feel at home,” he told the BBC late last year.
He added that embracing the language and culture had been a long-standing ambition, making the move feel like the perfect opportunity.
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has publicly praised Marcus Rashford on his attitude and commitment, especially amid recent squad changes. This came after teenage prospect Dro Fernandez triggered his £5.1m release clause to join Paris Saint-Germain.
“Marcus’ performances have been really good so far,” Flick explained, while stressing that sporting director Deco will handle future planning. He also highlighted Rashford’s desire to be at the club, calling it a key quality.
Flick used the moment to send a clear message to La Masia prospects. Playing for Barcelona, he said, requires total commitment, belief, and heart. Only those willing to give 100 percent truly belong.
