Springboks hold off Scotland to extend winning streak.

Springboks overcome determined Scotland challenge
The Springboks defeated Scotland 42-28 at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, securing a 10th consecutive Test victory. The teams were tied 14-14 at half-time after Scotland matched the world champions. However, the hosts responded well and finished strongly to seal an impressive win.
Slow start tests the Springboks

Scotland started confidently by forcing lineout errors and applying pressure through penalties and high kicks. However, the Springboks defended well and gradually took control. Embrose Papier scored a brilliant solo try after 15 minutes before Evan Roos crossed soon afterwards. Those tries gave South Africa a 14-0 lead. Scotland fought back with tries from Matt Fagerson and Kyle Rowe. Finn Russell converted both scores to level the match before the break.
Bench impact changes the game
The second half began with Ben-Jason Dixon receiving a yellow card for head contact. Despite their extra player, Scotland failed to score against determined South African defence. Once the replacements settled, the Springboks increased the pressure through dominant carries and forward power. Elrigh Louw restored the lead with a well-timed run. Damian Willemse then finished a superb team move for the bonus-point try. Zach Porthen added his first Test try to stretch the advantage to 35-14.
Springboks finish strongly

Scotland refused to give up as Josh Bayliss and Ben White crossed to reduce the deficit to seven points. Nevertheless, the experienced Springboks delivered the decisive blow. Handré Pollard chipped perfectly for Jesse Kriel, who sprinted clear to score. Pollard added the conversion to complete a deserved 42-28 victory. The result showcased South Africa’s resilience, physicality, and ability to finish under pressure.
