Lungi Ngidi removed any doubt by striking with the first ball of the innings.
The South African Team quickly reduced Canada to 45/4 inside the powerplay.
Ngidi led the Teams attack superbly and finished with figures of 4/31.
Marco Jansen supported him well, claiming 2/30 in a disciplined opening spell.
Proteas Close Out Win Despite Brief Scare
Canada’s Navneet Dhaliwal showed resistance with 64 from 49 balls.
However, South Africa always kept the required run rate firmly in check.
Kagiso Rabada endured a tougher outing but still took 1/40 in his four overs.
The Proteas showed composure as Rabada closed out the match despite late boundaries.
The only concern came when Ngidi landed awkwardly during his spell.
He recovered quickly and showed no signs of injury afterward.
The Team will now assess Ngidi’s workload ahead of Wednesday’s match against Afghanistan.
